A Tribute to First Day's of School....

1st Day of Kindergarten
1st Day of 1st Grade
1st Day of 2nd Grade
1st Day of 3rd Grade
(getting on the bus)
Coming home.... he must have been thinking "gee Mom, not the camera again!"

I thought you may enjoy a tribute to Jarred's first day's of school. It is hard to believe that he is already in the third grade. I have to admit, I was a bit teary eyed this morning pulling away from the bus stop. Jarred has become so independent, helpful, and all around sweet. He also has the silliest sense of humor. He is growing into quite the young man. God has really provided over the past several years in the area of parenting help. I have to give all the glory to Him for the young man that Jarred is becoming. My prayer is that Jarred will come to the Lord at a young age and have the desire to serve the Lord all his life with a heart like David's. He said he had a great day at school and is happy to see some old friends and classmates. He lucked out and didn't get any homework tonight, wish I could say the same!! I'll leave you for now with a few pictures of Jarred getting ready for church this past Sunday.....

I'm ready to go now.....
Off To Sunday School.... got your King James Bible???

Lazy "Fay" Day

Tropical Storm "Fay" seemed to have all the area concerned yesterday. The college even closed for the weekend. Turned out not to be so bad. It is barely even raining!! Thats alright with me though! I am all for a lazy day :)

Yesterday Jarred had orientation at Calvary. I can't believe that he is starting the third grade. WOW, how time flies. Daddy always told me it just keeps going by faster as you get older. I see what he meant now. It seems like the last day of second grade was a long time ago when in reality it was only three & a half months ago. The summer went by far too quickly. I like this time of year though. I am the type of person that thrives on routine, schedules, and planned activities (as most of you know). Call it OCD if you want, lol. So, getting back into the routine of the school year has become a comforting thought to me in my old age. Plus, I love this time of year. Preparing for birthday's, fall, and my two favorite holidays always brings warm fuzzies to mind.

I think that Jarred is looking forward to staring school as well. I am praying that this will be a better year for him. His teachers name is Mrs. Thompson, so we think that is kind of funny. Here are a few picture from last night of him getting acquainted with his class room and teacher.

I started school this past week. I'm taking two classes this semester: statistics & intro to humanities. They should be interesting. Lord willing I will be graduating with my AA in May of 09. The rumor is that NWF State College (formally OWC) will be offering a Bachelors in Business in the fall of 09. I am praying that it works out because that is what I want to major in.

By the way, I found this great web-site that has free blog back grounds. It is called "Cutest Blog On The Block." Let me know what you think of my new layout. Is it easy to read or too distracting? I like to change things up frequently, so you will see that my blog will be constantly changing.

All in all I realized this week that life is great, and again I am truly blessed. I am really enjoying this season in my life. I do know that the Lord knows the desires of my heart and will fulfill those desires if and when He feels the times is right. I hope that you enjoy your weekend and find blessings in your day and happiness in your blessings :)

The Beginning

It is hard to know where to start in the beginning! Today is a great day and my heart is full of gratitude as I reflect on the past. I am so very thankful that I am saved most importantly. I am also so happy to have Jarred home :) He had a wonderful trip in Wisconsin, and he was a blessing to my parents which in turn was a blessing to me. I have to just thank God for them everyday and wonder in amazement at how close we are now. The Lord is a worker of miracles and worthy to be praised!

I am surrounded by people whose lives are in shambles and do not know where to turn or what is going to come at them next, and I just have to take the time to say "Thank you Jesus" for showing me the truth! I do have my moments of worry and concern and so forth, but the Lord's peace always come to me and He reminds me that He will be with me always, even unto the end of my days. That is a hope to truly rest in. I can say that I have a life that is truly blessed, and that for now God has put me on the mountain. We have to truly rejoice in these times because I know that the valley with its trials & tribulations lay ahead. But even then I pray that the Lord will give me a heart that is thankful & continues to praise Him, for I know that he is only working in my life when those troubles come.

Last Friday I had a girl's sleepover that was so much fun. I have to share with you the special place that each of my friends hold in my heart. I invited three girls over: Shauna, Alina, and Tanya. The lord has truly blessed me with these friendships because they are women that have hearts that desire to serve Him. Any time I have ever gotten together with any of these darling young ladies (I can say that b/c I'm the oldest :) ) we have shared such sweet fellowship and conversed about the Lords' work in our lives. That is a blessing that I cannot put into words. Shauna is like a tower of strength; however, I do know that her strength comes from the Lord and she will tell you that. She is such an encouragement to me to look for what God is doing in my life in the here and now. Alina reminds me of spring time! She is like a breath of fresh air and an energy drink all mixed in one!!! She is always joyful and thus reminds me to be so as well. She is the type of person that is perpetually looking for the good. I like that. Tanya is a thinker and she is the meek and quiet one out of the bunch. God sent her to me at a very special time. As a matter of fact the day that we met, and I knew we would have a wonderful friendship ahead of us, I was struggling with my emotions and I prayed on my way to church that evening. As I was talking with God I said "Lord, I know that you love me, and I also know that I don't deserve it but today could you please just show me something that says you are here and that you love me?" He brought me Tanya about two hours later!! All three of these girls are so near to my heart! So thanks to each of you for being you and most importantly for your desire to serve the Lord with gladness! Your testimonies encourage me and I know that they encourage others as well. Needless to say we had the best time Friday night! We laughed, we cried, I screamed, lol...... We ate, we drank WAY too much coffee (thanks to Alina) and we fellowshipped. I am so looking forward to the next girls night!!!

I will leave you for now. Here's hoping that you find blessings in your day and happiness in your blessings :)
